A small blow in the name of justice - Edge Hill University actually admits breaking the law!

Although the University claimed that the rest breaks of employees were not cut short when other employees' breaks overran or started late (this is a lie), they actually did admit (click that link to see proof) to breaking the law on rest breaks for very overworked catering staff. In one of the few parts of the University where the staff are generally decent, Edge Hill University was forcing staff to take shorter breaks than the legal minimum. Amazingly, in a response to a Freedom of Information Request, they actually admitted this. They changed to comply with the law after the FOI request, but if such a request had not been very publicly made, who knows how long employees would have been suffering from the University's illegal activities?

Now they just need to admit to everything else, apologise, and compensate the affected people. But I won't hold my breath.
