About Dr John Cater CBE DL

Important: John Cater is a public figure (he even has a Wikipedia page) and so, according to UK law, is subject to legitimate criticism. Also see the Legal page. You might think that someone who had been given honours (such as a CBE) or royal appointments (such as DL) would behave respectfully and professionally. In the case of John Cater, the Vice Chancellor of Edge Hill University, you'd be wrong.

The CBE (commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) was awarded for "services to education" for doing nothing more than running a university and he was appointed DL (Deputy Lieutenant) for no given reason whatsoever.

This is a man who presided for more than two decades over a University where corruption was rife, where freedom of expression was illegally censored (see copy of the rules below), and where John Cater personally used a student's petition for support against the student (petition here: https://www.change.org/p/edge-hill-university-stop-edge-hill-university-breaking-the-law)
